There’s so much to love in Fort Worth. Plan a trip to one of these spots for a romantic, fun, or casual night out with your date on February 14.
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Is there anything more romantic than a walk through a garden? For an outdoor adventure, check out the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is home to over 13 distinctive gardens featuring a variety of native and exotic plants, flowers, trees, and nature of all types.
One of the best gardens to check out in February is the Japanese Garden. Bridges and paths wind through ponds and luscious green landscapes filled with cherry trees, Japanese maples, magnolias, bamboo, and more. The Japanese Garden is also home to over 1,200 Koi fish. Enjoy the fresh air by making a trip to the FWBG before dinner.
The Capital Grille
Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to #treatyourself. Opt for the Capital Grille — a downtown Fort Worth standby. Order a premium steak or decadent seafood dish and toast the night with a bottle of vino from their impressive wine list. Given the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator, The Capital Grille offers a wine selection you won’t be able to find anywhere else in Fort Worth.
Or, skip the fancy dinner altogether and go straight for the wine; after all, red wine is great for the heart.
Cowtown Winery is a wine bar offering distinctly Fort Worth wines under their own label.
You and your date can spend the evening sampling a variety of wines that have won state, national, and international wine competitions. Plus, with its location right in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards, so you can enjoy a walk around the historical avenues before heading home.
Blackland Distillery is an upscale cocktail lounge and distillery, perfect for setting a romantic Valentine’s mood. This destination was named one of Culture Map’s “Top Five Best Bars for Hopeless Romantics.”
Blackland offers their own vodka, gin, bourbon, and rye whiskey, as well as a variety of craft cocktails. To make the most of their selection, order a flight to try all four of their liquors. (And with small bites from Meyer & Sage, you can linger a little longer in the tasting room to make the most of your evening.)
Located right along the Trinity River in the Clearfork District, Press Cafe is as picture-perfect as it gets for an outdoor Valentine’s Day date.
Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and healthy options at this half indoors, half outdoors establishment that was named one of Texas Monthly’s 10 Best New Restaurants when it opened in 2017. Their Cafe Burger was also named one of the 50 Greatest Burgers in the state by Texas Monthly. After your meal, take a stroll along the Trinity Trail.
For a more hands-on experience, try a cooking class with The Cookery. The Cookery offers a wide variety of dishes taught from scratch by a culinary instructor who will guide you and your date through the whole process. Ready to try your hand at homemade pasta or French classics? The weekend of Valentine’s Day, their classes are titled, “Evening in Paris,” “Pasta Perfecto,” and “Taste of Tuscany.” Plus, you’ll have a new recipe you can try at home any time. Food is the way to the heart, and The Cookery will lead you there!
Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar
If you’re looking to cut loose, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar is the place to go. This downtown piano bar will have you singing along to your favorite hits (after just a drink or two). Get there when their doors open at 7 p.m., as this spot fills up fast.
